I am thinking of buying Radeon HD 7850 1GB reference edition. But i fear that my cpu Amd phenom II x2 555BE 3.6Ghz will bottleneck the cpu. So my question is that, will the cpu bottleneck the gpu? If not, should i go for 1Gb or 2 Gb edition? I will only be playing at resolution of 1366x768. If my cpu is the bottleneck, should i go for HD 7770 Vapor-X edition?

Thanks.I want the gpu that have most value for my money in term of my system.Sorry for my bad english

In honestly, it will bottleneck either way you look at it or choosen the 7870 or 7770 cards. I will say if you still using the Phenom IIx2 then upgrade that to at less an AMD quad core CPU then work your way to the 7870.
Look here: An AMD Athlon II X4 640 Propus 3.0GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor for only 79.99 link here

Then buy the card but if you have money for both then do the purchase at the same time

It'll bottleneck a newer GPU, however the question is, do you plan on a new rig soon or not at all ???

If you plan a new rig in the next 6 months, i'd say pick a really good card like the 7870 to be sure it'll suite the next rig too...

If no, at that low resolution, get the cheaper card like a 7770 is still overkill for that 1366*768 resolution so i recommend more a 650ti or a 7750 (about the same price of 100$) as anyway you will not notice any difference on that old machine...

It wouldn't be overkill as it's a lot better than an old dual core, however i really suggest to keep your cash and change MOBO/CPU/RAM with newer stuff as if you can still buy an 1100t, you'll pay maybe 200$ for it and it's slower than newer generation CPUs so you'd be better off changing all for 300-400$ and have a better newer technology...

PS: unless you can grab a 1100T for 75$ or less, i wouldn't do it...

I have make my mind that i would get amd fx 6300, reference HD7850 1GB and a new mobo between Asrock 990FX Extreme3 and Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0. Which would be better value? Thanks
