Hi All,
I just received TivoToGo. I installed Tivo Desktop on my computer,
transfer to computer worked fine. Haven't tried to burn one yet.
Question, can I put Tivo Desktop on a second computer on my network?
Also noticed the familiar "slow channel changing followed my pixel
distortion" It's a small annoyance, they'll probably come up with a fix
down the road. Heck look how many times you have to update Windows. :-)

Well I downloaded Desktop Tivo on the second computer and it seems to
work okay. Since it's on 24/7 this seem to be the better computer to
have it installed on.

AFAIK, yes, you can. However, someone reported that he wasn't
able to get TiVo Desktop to accept a shared network drive as the
place to store video files -- which presumably means you won't
be able to put the video files on a server and access them from
multiple PC's.

Hmm, I'm not sure about that. What I think would be the limitation is
you can't setup one machine with Tivo desktop, and use it to save videos
on another computer (I have not tried that myself). You should still be
able to *play* video files saved on another computer, however.

FWIW: I am running the Tivo Desktop 2 on a Win2000 box and saving the
video files on a WinXP SP1box on a shared network drive. For some
reason, I can't get the Tivo Beacon service to stay running on the XP
box. I exported the registry key that holds the passwords and media key
from the 2000 box to the XP box and I can play the videos with WMP10 on
the XP box. Tivo Desktop is not installed on the XP box, only the
registry key has been imported.
