20 Gig HD reading in windows as 2.0g help

Just built freinds computer today and all went well ecept that window is seeing the brand new 20G hard drive as a 2.0 g drive. The bios sees it as 20G, we are not running 98Se just 98. I did not format hard drive from DOS I let windows instalation format it and it seemed like a fast format. any ideas as to why???

If I remember correctly, Win98 has imposed that limit on you :p
I suggest you partition the drive.

Win98 partitions drives without using the "large" setting by default. Repartion the drive using F-Disk, when it ask if you want to make it large say YES, erase the old partition, then make the new partition full sized and active. If you're booting from the CD, Fdisk is in the root directory, but the Format option is in the Win98 directory. Reformat and start all over again.
