Tracking a laptop throug its license

Hello,
how about tracking the laptop through its licensed if it is not yet been refomat?my laptop were stolen jz last month,and we doubt that our suspect will reformat it because its quite expenssive to afford a new license(windows 7 ultimate) thank you

Hi

Some Laptop suppliers such as Dell, Toshiba etc can supply Tracking software embedded in the bios which can report home to tracking company. This requires a subscription.
There is other software which can be installed on hard disk to do a similar job. (risks disappearing during re install)

If your laptop is found it can be identified by serial numbers embedded in components even if labels removed.

Some manufacturers have a system of tracking serial numbers of stolen laptops should they enter the service chain or requests for Technical Support are made.
