Would it be possible to remove the primary card and go with the second one? My Radeon HD 6850's fans bearings have gone and it's overheating, so I want to remove it and put the second card in its place. Looking inside and I see they're connected by a bridge of some sort, will that be a problem?

Disconnect the bride and use the single card in the primary slot. Make sure you reset the Catalyst Control Center back to single card.
