Have network password, but it asks for encryption code

It sounds like some machines have encrypted files, that is a separate issue from wireless network passcodes. Take a look at this: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/window...

It turns out that the problem was that it was an older laptop that only had WEP capability, and the new network was using WPA2. I wound up buying a usb wireless adapter and am using that on the laptop instead of the built in wireless receiver, and that seems to have solved the problem.
