I purchased a new case that has two front USB ports. What exactly do I need to purchase to make use of these? I don't want one that sits in the 5 1/2 bay. I've searched CompUSA and Besybuy, but I didn't see anything that I thought was right for my setup.

Check you MB manual and find out if there are extra pins to attatch to and where.
You should have recieved the extra wiring with the new case you bought. What is
the brand and make of your new case?

GENERIC K-215 400 WATT USB P4 CASE

I didn't receive any extra wires, which is probably why I couldn't figure it out. I know that I have to change some jumpers on the motherboard. I'm guessing I'm going to have to buy the extra equipment, any ideas as to what it is called?

It will be called usb cable. The type you need depends on the connection type
on your new case and your MB. If you don't have connections on you MB you have
to plug in the usb connectors on the back (outside) of your case, run them back
into your case and fasten them to the front connectors. Find out what type connecters
you need and go to a local dealer and they should have them.

you first want to check and see if there is something
on your mobo such as..
"on board USB header for extra USB channels"
(normally they will point that out cuz its a sell point for the mobo)
if you do..next thing you have to do is figure out what are
the front USB cables..it might not be a perfict little rectangle..
might be just be 8(2R2W2G2B)little single line cable you
can find together with the other cables that come with the case
(light at front plate, pc speaker, HD light...etc. you know)
get them connected to the mobo then you're ready to go
