This is the weirdest problem I have ever seen. On power up of the PC all sounds are heard through the speakers. This is prior to any windows drivers being loaded for the sound card. I have moved the card to different PCI slots, tried different speakers, checked Bios for anything strange but still am lost. Any suggestion why a sound card would make so much racket?

can you give us a little more detail as to what components you have to help us identify the problem, also, your version of Windows would be appriecated as well.

If it works for you then don't fix it.
