Basically I have a hand-me down computer from a friend because my own stopped working and I'm still saving up for a new rig. It's been working fine for a while now, but last week or so the fan on the graphics card (GeForce 9500GS) stopped working.

I'm looking for a sub-100 dollars graphics card that will work with this setup:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c01625662&lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&contentType=SupportFAQ&prodSeriesId=3824167&prodTypeId=12454
And is at least as good as the 9500GS (a lot to ask for, I know /s). I should probably also point out that I live in Canada.

I don't use it for anything hardcore. Starcraft 2 @ 1920x1080 at low everything, browsing, messing around with modding and stuff. The 9500GS without a fan runs too damn hot for SC2 now.

Thanks for the help!

A GT640 may be good for you, as it's around £60 ($100) on eBay, and it's better than your old one :) http://www.hwcompare.com/12969/geforce-9500-gt-1gb-gddr3-vs-geforce-gt-640-ddr3/

Just curious if my motherboard, which has 2 PCI-e x1 slots, 1 PCI-e x16 slot, and 1 PCI slot, will be compatible with the 640 or 7770?

Then, if so, is 350 watts enough for it?

edit: Okay, the 7770 would require a new PSU, whereas the 640 should be as simple as plugging it in and going, as far as I can tell.

DO NOT GET THE GT640!! Get the HD7750 its the same in performance as the GTX650 but smaller and more cost effiecient. And yes it will work + The HD7750 doesn't need much power. 50w at max load.. and draws all its power from the pci express slot. Yes its just a matter of plugging it in
