Hi,

can someone give me some advice about tv tuner? I dont want to buy AIW, cos if i want to change my vga card, that means i also lose my tv tuner. And I also want to be able to record shows to my pc. So, any advice? oh yeah, in my place only hauppage, pinnacle and leadtek that available. So, can anyone give me more insight about theirs products?

Thanks alot

All I can tell you is to stay away from the USB capture cards. Due to USB bandwidth issues, they can only capture in MPEG1. PCI cards can capture in both MPEG1 and MPEG2.

MPEG1 is small file size/low quality. MPEG2 is large file size/high quality.

I've never heard of stand alone capture cards by Leadtek. Going by other peoples opinions here (no persoal experience with either cards) Pinnacle is slightly better than Hauppage, but it depends on the model. What is your price limit?
