Does the length of a USB cable affect performance in any way ?
Yesterday I bought a 5m (15 feet) USB cord instead of a 2m (6 feet) planning in my mind a re-organisation of the work area. But when I unravelled the package I realised just how much cable 5m is and it got me thinking that maybe such a long cord could affect signal performance.
Would it make a difference if the device being connected had it own power supply or if it was drawing paower from the USB cable ?
I'm using it for my printer (which due to the long cable, I can now locate in any of three rooms in the house if I really wanted to ;-)
Thanks Tim....
