So i ordered a cyberpowerpc last week, and it was taking them forever to process. So i called and they said they were waiting on my graphics card AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB, and that it would be another week. And lemme tell ya, im very impatient. So would it be a mistake to downgrade to the 7850 and get it in three days? Is the week worth it?
Here are the specs if your curious:
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-3770 3.40 GHz
MOTHERBOARD: * [CrossFireX] GIGABYTE GA-Z77-HD3 Intel Z77 Chipset DDR3
MEMORY: 16GB (8GBx2) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory
HDD: 2TB (2TBx1) SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 64MB Cache 7200RPM HDD

well you will loose some performance but a small amount...you can overclock the 7850 and have the 7870 performance

Could it run crysis 3 without overclocking?

Crysis 3? What is the resolution of your monitor? One thing you do not want to compromise with is graphics performance. It's too late now, but I'd recommend a 3570 processor and upping to a 7950 graphic card if you want Crysis 3. For now, stick with the 7870, you may want to CF another one in the future.

Thanks for the info.

As you can see, with Crysis the 7870 does well, a good 20% faster than the 7850. We don't know exactly how demanding Crysis 3 will be, we know it will be more demanding than Crysis and much more than Crysis 2. For this reason I would not recommend stepping back to a 7850.
