What graphics card could I buy,or should I upgrade something else too?

My budget is around 150€ for the graphics card.

Good to see the quad is still going strong.

I would recomend a platform jump soon though if you plan on playing the latest games at max settings.

I would recomend for a graphics card, a GTX660 from nvidia, or a Radeon 7870 from AMD.

Should the GTX660 from nvidia, or a Radeon 7870 from AMD fit in the motherboard.
Because my Maximus formula (limited edition) has PCI Express 2.0 x16 bus interfaces, and those graphic cards have 3.0 x16 bus interface.
A friend told me that this probably couldn't work.
So I wanted to ask you guys.

Or should I also upgrade the motherboard?

Your friends an idiot, PCIE is backward compatable.

Also, no LGA775 motherboard supports PCIE2.0
