If you read the review, it says they were unable to get the Promedia speakers...they don't say why though...

Maybe because Klipsch didn't send any, and they didn't have the extra cash to buy them?

Another setup they missed is the Monsoon MM2000. I looked at at as many 4.1 and 5.1 systems as I could find (I listened to maybe 10) and chose the Monsoons (never did find the Klipsch speakers for sale anywhere).

I noticed they beat up on the flat speaker technology... I would challenge them to listen to a well done flat setup (like the Monsoons) and not revise their opinion. There's nothing inherently wrong with membrane speakers... in fact in the high end audio world there are a number of top notch membrane speakers that will blow your mind (and your wallet) out of the water.

Did you try Best Buy... by me (NJ - USA) they have the 2.1 and the 4.1 setup...they don't have the 5.1 setup...

You can check out sprintcomputer.com. They have the 2.1, 4.1 and 5.1...however it says they don't ship the 5.1 speakers...
Although I'm not sure if they ship in the US at all...if they do, you can save a bundle with the exchange rate since the prices are in CND.

I bought my 5.1's a month ago. Best Buy in Princeton has shelves full of them.

I can't think of a good signature so I'll use this one.

I go to the Best Buy on Rt9 near the FreeHold Mall.... Don't have 5.1, but have 2.1 and 4.1, and I love cranking them up in the store, everybody looks at me like im crazy!!!

I do the same at my best buy. :)
I dont think the 5.1s bass nor highs match the Z560s myself. And the 560s are pure louder! The sub just has more thump. klipsch might have them beat in overall sound quality and range but as time has proven for centurys, people want extreme bass (those basshead kids outside your windows right now). :)
ADMIT IT! YOU LOVE BASS!!!

Give me quality over volume any day.

Price of the better all around sounding (and not by much) Klipsch 5.1 setup $399 at best buy.
Price of louder, cleaner and thumpier Logitechs? $200 at best buy, $140 SHIPPED online.

The only reason for the better midrange is lack of seperate tweeter/mids for the Logitechs but I dont think 200dollars means go for a lackluster 5.1 setup.

For having TWO 8inch subs the Klipschs are given the b*tch smack.

Logitech uses standard stereo wire and connectors so you can cut your own lengths if needed.

Dont take my advice and turn up both systems, listen to the Klipsch bass give out early on while the logitech pump out the volume on both the highs and lows.

I cant imagine the difference in a small room, as best buys testing area is in the middle of an aisle.
Generally smaller sound systems like these sound especially crappy in such open areas but logitech put out a system that meets everyones requirements. If you want more dont spend it on klipsch go with a Martin Logan 5.1 setup.

The Klipsch bass doesn't sound bad at all to me

I'm not necessarily recommending the Klipsch's over the Logitech's or vice-versa. I haven't had a chance to really listen to either.

All I'm saying is, if I have a choice between slightly better quality or slightly louder speakers, give me the quality.

Its not a matter of slightly louder, Klipsch doesnt rate their stuff at RMS but at peak.. yep thats right.
You go to best buy, take a look at the boxes, turn em up, find out klipsch aint all that.

Those 500watt systems from klipsch are not RMS rated.

Logitechs systems are RMS. 188Watt sub RMS. That means not slightly more volume, WAY more volume and damn near in the range department.

I like martin logan surroudn sound for my movies.. :-)

Z560s with an audigy are the perfect match, best speakers for the dollar and best sound card for the dollar (easily).

I'll never understand how the EAX on the Audigy can be screwed up, when Creative invented EAX. Oh well, could just be the specific driver version that was installed.

It's all a matter of what you're looking for in a system... Klipsch has ha solid setup, but IMO they're a bit pricey. The Z560's are loud and inexpensive, and perform right up there with the high end PC setups. I've got the MM2000's and I've been very happy with them, but I'd have gotten the 560s if they were available when I bought speakers... the loss in objective quality is more than made up for by price/performance comparisons.

In any event... ALL these rigs are pretty amazing considering the prices... with the Z560's you're getting a whole home theater setup including a decent amp for half the price of the CENTER CHANNEL speaker on my DTS HT system. Pretty cool

Reply to D_Kuhn

I very much agree that they Are Pricy.. But I have Listened to the both System I personally CAN"T!! get the Logitech's for one main reason, i don't have the room for all those Speakers, I wish i did, because the Comparison between the 4 Pc Klipsch and the 4 Pc Logitech I would deffinetly go with logitech because of the power and the price without a DOUBT!! BUT!! no room, so i must chose the Klipsch 2.1 setup

klipsch is the best easy for a 2.1 setup.
