"my question is will that card work same as that of the windows version on my LGA 775 socket motherboard (pcie 1.1 x16) "
what?

pcie is backwards compatible so you can plug the pcie 2.0 5770 to the pcie 1.1 slot

You won't know for sure until you install it, but there might be an issue. Some Radeon 5000 cards were PCIe 2.1 instead of PCIe 2.0. PCIe 2.1 is known to have compatibility issues with the 1.x versions of PCIe. I think that 1.1 is fine, but I am not sure. I've helped two people in the last month who had compatibility issues caused by PCIe 2.1 cards in old motherboards, let alone how many people in the last year or two, so the best advice that I can give is to give it a try. If it doesn't work, then the card might need to be returned and replaced with a different card.

If the PCIe differences was causing an issue, it wouldn't even let you boot up. It's working just fine :)
