It's not necessarily discontinued, just Newegg's way of saying that the item is out of stock. Is there a reason you're after that particular card? Gigabyte, MSI and XFX (along with others) all have their own versions...

7950, 7870 XT (such as the powercolor myst - it'll blow the pants off a 7870 GHz.)

7950 is a very good card, should max out games and has an extra Gb of VRAM.
$300 card, comes with Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite. If your budget on a card is $300, I would definitely choose this one. Gigabyte tends to offer some good overclocking headroom as well with the decent coolers.
