ASUS GTX 680 DIRECT CU II TOP 2GB VS EVGA GTX 670 FTW+ 4GB

Im planning on s.l.i'ing later on and im planning to game on an 27" 2560x1440 Monitor. Which should i choose? I looked that the asus 680 and its great about 7 to 10fps faster than a reference 680, as well as a great overclock er. Its as well just 30 bucks more than the evga gt x 670 where i live. Also should i just wait for 700 Series to come out?

  1. 2GB Asus 670 DirectCUII. Works out alot cheaper in the long run and no loss in performance, a top end 670 will OC higher and end up faster than a reference 680 can OC to. 4GB isn't really needed yet, even at that resolution.
  2. Either a 670 WITH 2GB VRAM or a 7970 with 3Gb of VRAM, also has very good performance for a similar price to a 670.
  3. For that resolution you should probably get more than 2 GB, so I would go with the 4 GB 670 out of those two choices. Also depends on what games you play, my skyrim has gone above 2.4 GB vRam on a single 1080p monitor and my BF3 has reached 1.8 GB. I am not sure how big of an impact higher resolution has though If I was choosing however, I would go with a 7970, about the same price as a 670, 3 GB of vRam, and on par or better than a 680 depending on the game.
