Im planning to run an i-5 3570k and an Intel mobo but the GPU I'm trying to get is very expensive for my budget. I was looking at the GPU Hierarchy chart here at Tom's and saw that the HD 7850 is about the same performance as the 660 Ti but for a lot cheaper.

Is it worth it to buy the HD 7850 over the 660 Ti for the cheaper budget? I read that Raedon cards on an Intel set-up sacrifices a few frames in performance during gaming.

Hi - the newer amd drivers have improved the perf of their cards. The 660ti
is prob still a little better overall. I would say if the price diff is more than
$25 go for the 7850. It is also a card that OC's very well.
The 7850 is often referred to as the best <$200 card out there.

7850 when overclocked will trade blows but frankly after using the 7850 even against my gtx 570 I recommend spending the money on the 660 (non ti)

Mind you my 3dmark 11 scores are 1100 points higher with an overclocked 7850 than the 570gtx when they are both overclocked

The gtx 570 however offers a far more stable min fps, I can only assume that would hold true with the 660
