I'm new to TIVO and tinkering with it's capabilites. I have a TIVO
Series 2, Toshbia RS-TX20. I've been making MP3 music compliations on
CD which play fine on the TIVO. I've tried many things to make a
playlist on the CD but nothing has worked. Every playlist I've tried
gets the error -
This folder does not contain any playable music.
Has anyone out there been able to make a CD with playlists?
Here is what I've tried. I'm using .m3u format from Windows Media
Player then hacking as needed to try and get it to work.
#EXTM3U this line always needed
#EXTINF:284,song1 this line list song name in playlist
../song1.mp3 this line has filename for the song
I've tried changing the last line which is the filename to the song but
nothing has worked.
TIVO uses Linux so it should use forward slash "/" not PC style
backslash "\". I tired putting the song in a folder, no luck.
No I'm beginning to suspect that playlists only work with the media
option. TIVO will look for songs on the network but not on it's own
CD-ROM drive. Too bad. Hopefully there is something I haven't tried
to get TIVO playlists to work on CD.
