I'll be buying a Dell Inspiron 3521 with same specs as yours only the cpu is Intel® Core™ i7-3517U (1.9 GHz/3.00 GHz, 4M Cache) and it has 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM and is with 15.6" 1366 x 768. I am not sure if 8730m is good for most games, but that's because it's new and not to many youtube videos are out thee yet to show some info of its performance, and will have to use the Dell display ddrivers for some time till AMD has official drivers for their new HD 8000 GPUs. The cool thing about 8730m is that it has directx 11.1 and it boosts its core from 650 MHz to 700 MHz when needed, that's what it says in notebookcheck, although I think it will do for some game titles and Skyrim will be played on medium as it shows in the test on notebookcheck website: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-8730M.87149.... :bounce:

I will buy a Dell Inspiron 5521. So you are saying that this card can't run Skyrim on high settings because it doesn't have the official drivers yet? Also, do you happen to know to what model of an NVIDIA card can i compare the 8730m?
Thanks, Leo.

Hmm about nvidia I think the 640m is comparable with 8730m, but nvdia GPU is not good imo, cuz they say "Nvidia Doesn't Fully Support DirectX 11.1 with Kepler GPUs".
This claim is from this website: http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2012/11/21/nvidia-...

While AMD claims that they have full directx 11.1 support here: http://blogs.amd.com/play/2012/12/14/gcn-architecture-f...,
and about the drivers I think there will be a boost in performance with their drivers, cuz I had Asus laptop that had the old mobility HD 4570m and when I was using my asus display drivers in the beginning I had low fps in some games and when I finally moved to AMD official display drivers I was with a lot better fps and was able to increase the graphic settings as well, and I was reading somewhere in google before that the display drivers from laptop manufactures are always badly optimized. :)
And they say that AMD will be used in Sony playstation 4. :D

those new models ..so i maybe would wait more for others amd 8 series gpu models appear..and yes its almost same as Gt 640m , or some faster then now popular 7670m . but thats for one gpu. becouse 7670m mostly comes with amd apu and they goes as dual gpu ,in dual gpu its same or faster as 7830m . and price is realy high..only for intel i7 ...i would still take older 7670m dual with 7520g or with 7660g.
