Sapphire Radeon AMD 7970 Vapor X Crossfire

So, I got my Vapor X and I have to say.. it is one HUGE card. Almost as big as my motherboard.

I am a bit concerned about crossfiring these. Will two of these be able to fit properly on my motherboard? I have an Asrock Z77 Extreme . Not to worried about PCI openings, as my Phantom 810 should have enough. (Will have to take out my Ethernet card though. Big whoop)

If two is too large, what other Ghz card do you recommend? The HIS 7970 Ghz edition one looks quite nice and has the performance to boot too, from what I've read.

Will performance take a hit if I use two different Ghz cards?

The gigabyte ghz edition is a great card, it should have no problem fitting properly. It shouldn't, it will most likely lower the higher gpu's clock rate to match the lower speed gpu, but regardless its still goin to be really fast.

I agree with going for the Gigabyte WindForce X3 model.

There isn't really a performance drop from mixing two different 7970 GHz Edition models. They're probably switch to the highest common frequencies between them if they have different frequencies, but that's not going to make much of a difference.

Nice! Thanks, everyone! Definitely going to Crossfire the Sapphire Vapor X and the Gigabyte Ghz. Love the latter's thinner profile. Makes me almost want to trade in the Vapor X for it.. almost. =)
