What Graphics Processor do I need?

Hello,
I am building my first computer. I have currently ordered the following:
i7 3770k
ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77
2x CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
2x Samsung 24" Monitor (S24B300EL)
I also have a 650w psu

I'm looking for a graphics card, but there are a lot of different details in graphics cards that I know nothing about. I am looking for something that I won't have to replace for awhile, so it will handle most games for another year or two. Something that will work well for multiple monitors. Something around $150 would be nice.

Well the best card is a 7970, but 150 the best cards are probably 650ti or 7850.

Really should cancel the i7, and get an i5 and better gpu

How would I use my dual monitors? My monitors have 1 HDMI and 1 VGA port each. Could I use the HDMI port and use one of the DVI ports with an HDMI or VGA adapter? Would I be able to do more than 2 monitors, if so, how?

Why? Also FYI, I'm a software engineer (who doesn't know much about hardware). I'm not a hardcore gamer, I'd just like it to be able to work well enough if I decide to play any games over the next year or two.

Also.. I appreciate both names of cards as well as certain things that I should be looking for in the specs. If you say names of cards it would be nice to also know why you believe that to be a good card for me.

Also, are there any compatibility issues to worry about?
