I recently had a dvr installed, the schedule and the picture sometime
directly after changing channels looses it color.
Is this normal.

No, it's not normal (kinda silly if it was).

You probably have a bad connection or bad cable someplace in the mix.

Sounds like it could be normal for a Tivo.

Tivo's are old technology. Check with your cable company for a more
modern product.
