depends on how disposable your income is. If i were single and had no kids and had a steady job i would probably waste my money on one without thinking. Unfortunately i have a wife, kids, etc so i cant get one :(

Im in the same boat....

Depends on what you have now, and whether it's cutting the mustard. You'll have to wait until December for the 780 to come out, and it'll still be expensive (the usual $500+). If I were you, I would wait at least a little while, maybe a month or two. There has been a lot of news/speculation about customized Titan cards and potentially lower cost cut-down cards based on Titan's GK110 core.

So the titan is the main card, than it will have lower sku's at lower prices correct? So the Titan Series?

That seems to be the rumor/supposition.

Quote:
"The reference model isn’t the end of what we should expect of the GeForce GTX Titan, sources confirm that AICs are free to manufacturer their own custom variants with some aiming to offer low cost GeForce GTX Titan without boost clocks while others aim for higher clock “Super Overclock” variants with a clock speed of over 900 MHz."

It also seems like the price of Titan may come down in coming months:

Quote:
"Finally, let’s talk launch availability. By scheduling the launch of Titan during the Chinese New Year, NVIDIA has essentially guaranteed this is a delayed availability product. Widespread availability is expected on the 25th, though cards may start popping up a couple of days earlier. NVIDIA hasn’t gone into depth for launch quantities, but they did specifically shoot down the 10,000 card rumor; this won’t be a limited run product and we don’t have any reason at this time to believe this will be much different from the GTX 690’s launch (tight at first, but available and increasingly plentiful)."

Bottom line: Give it a month or two and see what happens. By that time, there may even be more info on the GTX 780 as well.

i think you should listen to this advice, at least give it a couple months, the price will come down, and you may get some preliminary benches of the newer 7 series cards.
