What Card is right for me

I'll be using a i5 3570k and gaming at 1080x1920. I see the top of the line cards like the 680 and 7970 ghz but do you really need one of those? I plan on playing Far Cry 3, Crysis 3, BF 3 etc.. and so on but do you actually need a card that high to max them out on ultra? Or is it possible to say go for a 670 or 7950 and still max out most settings but just turn down a few things and still get 60+ FPS. Thanks in advance.


Oh BTW, Right now I can get a used asus 680 OC 2GB for 420, or a new EVGA 680 SC Signature for 445. Then of course my other options are something else of course but those would be my options if I went for a 680.

You could probably ultra those games out with a 7950 or 670 but if you have money to snatch a 7970 GHz I think it's a better option.
