Definitely the 7770. It will way outperform the 640. The small price difference is for sure worth the performance increase between the two.

7770 is roughly 70 percent faster.

I recommend passmark for a quick benchmark comparison. just google them, it will pop up.
BTW, it's only a benchmark, but it does work for rough estimates

are you sure, my GT640 is nearly as powerful as the GTX 650 (OVERCLOCKED)

How good a GT 640 is mostly depends on its memory interface. The DDR3 version is most common and is comparable to a mere Radeon 6670 GDDR5 (about a third of the Radeon 7770 on average). The GDDR5 version is much rarer, but is semi-decent at about 20% slower than a GTX 650 at stock, reference frequencies (a little over half of a Radeon 7770 on average). Neither of the versions are worth buying over a Radeon 7770 at a similar price nor even worth buying over a Radeon 7750 in most situations.

A 650 is WAY weaker than a 7770, AND NO IT ISNT!

Get the 7770, it is way better and even the 7750 beats the 640 and the 6670 is on par with it
passmark is completely synthetic and therefore is unrepresentative of real world in game performance

The alienware x51 ($699 model) is equipped with a gddr5 gt 640 and it pretty much runs every game at 40-70 fps on mid to high settings
