Pioneer DVD firmware update... Tags: DVD Drives Pioneer Firmware Storage Last response: March 31, 2002 12:08 AM in Storage Share Timbo55 March 30, 2002 7:24:11 PM Do I need to have my drive (106s) set as MASTER on the second IDE channel in order to update the firmware. On one hand the Pioneer website update intrustions say this must be the case but then on the same page, they offer another program that will install firmware updates thru Windows. What they don't say is whether you still need to have the drive set as MASTER on the second IDE channel. I have mine set to slave and it's a real pain to get in there and change it around. Any ideas... ?
