Ok sooo I have a fresh install of fallout new vegas with absolutely NO MODS.

I double click on the launcher

start up the game

black screen comes up

BOOM! CRASH!

I have tried the following

> ran in XP compatibility
> ran as admin

I am absolutely clueless on how to solve this problem. Can anyone help?

Where's the install from? A CD, or steam?

Your best bet is probably installing it again.

Tried all of them and non work. Literally, I just double click on the executable, then it goes to a black screen and then crashes.

Are you running any anti-virus or firewalls? A few have been known to do this unless you configure it to not just block literally everything foreign.

Also are your drivers up to date? same with windows and usually there are redist files that are installed when you install the game, sometimes these can go wonky and just not install properly I would go into the cd and try reinstalling these files manually.
