VCD-Video CD- Playback

I am having problems getting a VCD to play on my computer. The VCD will play on my $89. Walmart DVD player but not on my computer. On my "Win 98 SE" computer it will not play, the windows media (Ver 7.1) player does not recognize it. I have downloaded 2 "freeware" CD players fron ZD Net & they will not play it.

It plays on my friends computers: HP laptop Win ME w/ DVD player & on another friends Win 98 ( no DVD player just CD )with a ATI video card using the ATI supplied player or the player that came with his SB Live sound card.

Any suggestions would be appreciated
