I3 3220+hd 7870 2gb or fx 8320+hd 7850 ->1gb<-
I can still upgrade from a i3 to i5 in the future when I take an i3.

What games do you play and at what resolution? I would most likely recommend the i3 and 7870.

the 7870 XT is a Tahiti chip (used in the 7950) with some shaders disabled. It's significantly more powerful than the regular 7870, though not as powerful as the 7950.

It's basically the best bang-for-buck graphics card right now.

Buy the best video card you can afford within your budget. Consider an FX6300 95w Piledriver on the AMD side. They are LOL silly-high over-clockers.
