Hello all,
Here's my general specs:
MoBo:Asus M4A79 Deluxe
Chip: Phenom II X4 940, slight oc to 3.4GHz
Memory: 8GB DDR2
Graphics:Radeon HD 4870X2
HD: OCZ Vertex 2 SSD
Main Display: 24" Samsung 1920X1600
The question is should I just do a graphics upgrade to extend the life of the machine or wait another year or so and do a whole new build? So far the rig has held up well against most titles I have thrown at it. I play a lot of Planetside 2 and to get playable framerates I must scale back to Medium and play at 1920 x 1080. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but I wonder if I can still utilize the "Dragon" platform with a newer card and get better performance. Or will the Phenom be the bottleneck and not allow a newer card to shine?
Thanks
