noob / subwoofer question

hi,

just looking for a little guidance on how to set up a subwoofer with my
speakers?

this is not a high tech setup, so I'm just looking for the basics,
unfortunately the sub manual is rather thin

first my speakers are about 20 years old =:0) ( but I still like them)

they are Kef Cantor 3

my subwoofer is by athena, on the back there is an LP filter dial ( 50 -
100), and a Level nob 0 to 10

2 input jacks XOver, and input

the Kef website says my speakers have a frequency range of 58 Hz to 20K Hz

I have the cable from my reciever, subwoofer jack( a newer marantz)
plugged into the Input jack on the subwoofer


so if anyone has any suggestions on where I would set the lp filter, and
level dials for a basic setup I'd appreciate it
