Can I handle this card?

My current specs are these:

AMD Athlon II X3 455
Asrock 970 Extreme3 Mobo
DDR3 1600
Radeon 6750
Rosewill Hive 750W
NZXT Phantom 410 Case with 4 fans


I am planning to upgrade to a XFX 7870. Will my cpu bottleneck this card?
Will I be able to play most games at high at 1080p?

well heres a short story for you based around myself and what i got told when i was going to buy a 7870 with my reasonably old cpu (Pentium e5800 775 chipset): they said dont you wont get playable framerates etc but i do get them... all i do is lower my settings and off i go.... cpu intensive things like bf3 mp etc will require lower settings but jsut about all sp games will run fine

Yes your CPU will bottleneck...Will you be able to play games? for sure but at 1080 and high details maybe not that smooth at least not the latest games.

Anyway it is a good step up from 6790.
Did you tried unlocking the extra core?
