I had an eVGA GTX570 (not HD) and I upgraded, or at least I thought I upgraded to the Sapphire HD 7870 XT (the one based on Tahiti LE chipset). I wanted to sell my GTX but when I was trying to figure out a price point I noticed that it was still selling for more than what I purchased my 7870...

I recognize more money doesn't always mean better but why does the GTX still sell for 270 range when I bought my 7870 for like 240?

I do notice an improvement in performance, but in comparing the cards it's still rather close to the point where it could be a placebo effect.. Is there something I'm missing here?

Thanks..

Nope you did upgrade, the 570's just have an inflated price do to low supply and are mainly targeting people who have to buy them for SLI and trying to gouge them

Relative to the 570, the 7870XT is 17% faster and this is with January drivers
