7950 or 7970?

I'm currently using a EVGA GTX 560ti and i am looking to upgrade. I have a 750 watt PSU. I am running 1920x1080 resolution. I cant decide on which brand 7950 or 7970, or which one to buy. I'm just looking for the best bang for my buck. I am open to NVIDIA cards i just think that they are a tad expensive compared to AMD's cards. All comments welcomed.

More about 7950 7970
  1. Get a good 7950 and OC it. It will match the performance of 7970 and 670. AMD has great pricing going on and the bundle makes it worth it even more. Look around, up here in Canada you can get a 7970 for 350 and 7950 for 250 due to promotions and sales. So check out ncix for deals and newegg but ncix has best deals so far.
  2. I won't speak against the 7970 but I can speak in favor of the 7950. I've been gaming with an XFX 7950 and the 7950 is strong card. To date, I've been able to max every game with the one exception being Far Cry 3 where I have to drop the MSAA to x4 to guarantee a minimum of 30FPS. I can't speak on Crysis 3 yet but to show how favorably I feel about the card, I just ordered a second for Crossfire. The high OC ceiling on the card probably makes it one of the best values on the market, especially considering the 3GB of VRAM.
  3. Which 7950 would you most likely recommend? My plan is to get rid of this 560ti for now and once the new 8xxx series cards release and the prices or the 7xxx series cards drop. I will buy a second, and maybe down the line, a third 7950.

    7950 all the way.
I have this card and I love it very much, awesome cooling and over clocking ability is really good. Enjoy man!
