Hello, I am going to be soon upgrading my system's graphics card and processor. I do not want to replace my Mobo, as I have no disc copy of Windows and do not want to risk crashing the OS on my HDD. So, I am stuck with this motherboard. Which wouldn't be a bad thing, if A) it supported FX processors and B) had a higher TDP than 95w. Since Phenom ll processors are so outdated, the only one still available is the 965 Black edition and the 1045T, to my knowledge, without paying ridiculous sums of money. 965 is ruled out, as its TDP is 125w. So, the only processor I can buy is this one, the 1045T:

This wouldn't be a problem, but I want to know if it will be a good match for this GPU:

If not, please refer me to a processor $100~ that is a Phenom ll and 95w. Or, a GPU to match the 1045T. Thanks.

CURRENT specs:
Phenom ll x2 3.5GHz
1600x900 20"
12GB memory
500w psu
7200rpm HDD
HD 4200 integrated graphics (don't laugh...lol)

Thanks!! :)

Well look at this coincidence! I too am upgrading my computer, I bought the phenom II X6 1045T (Upgraded from a Athlon X2 255) and I ordered that graphics card and should be getting it today (same, exact one). I believe its a great match and for your resolution it should be excellent. Im having some trouble overclocking the 1045T due to my mobo though :p

Thanks for the reply, but I recently changed my mind about the whole shebang and will be building a new computer soon. Probably go with Intel CPU+mobo. Hope you like your 7770! :)

Yep that's the best option. Good luck
