Wondering if anyone here has this laptop or something similar with an hd5870m. I can not seem to get a working driver. The laptop is about 3 years old and it appears that AMD doesn't exactly support this card anymore.
Going through the menus on AMD's website gets me to the hardware validation utility, which I download and it appears to detect my card and download the proper software. During installation the screen flickers more than it you would normally see during a driver install, then it BSoDs. Upon restarting I don't have a working driver and can't access CCC.
I found an old driver from 2009 off Sager's website, which kind of works, but it's old as hell. For now, it's what I'm running just so I have a usable system.
If anyone has had any luck with this, even if it requires a vbios flash, I'm down.
