Hello,

My computer is in need of an upgrade, I am looking at some of these 3-4gb single gfx cards but unfortunately they require 3.0 PC Express slots where I only have a 2.0 16x.

I have heard in the past that the impact is not even noticable to the average person, but is this still the case with these newer cards that come out? I was thinking of updating the MoBo but my processer is a first gen i7 and I really cant afford to replace that aswell..

What do you guys think? Could I get away with a 3-4GB Single Gfx card to help my performance? Or is my computer going to chugg on it?

Some of the cards;

Pcie is backwards compatible. You don't need a pcie 3.0 slot. The impact would be very minimal.

Those cards good but also consider amd's 7970, same price as that 470, often better performance.
