As fas as I can see the brand is Acer. In terms of power, 750W are more than enough. I would have my considerations though regarding the brand, since there are a lot better branches in the market. For example Corsair and cooler master are among the top. Just to answer your question, yes your power supply is fine.

Hope this helps!

XFX compared to the others isn't that great.

A sapphire, MSi or Asus are better, because XFX has terrible VRM cooling(and are also voltage locked, meaning bad overclocking), and the cooler cools worse than twin frozr or DirectCU.

750w will run a 7970GHz fine but make sure it's a good 750w

I went with a gigabyte version, just because sapphire was out of stock. Think that will be ok too? I did see the bad reviews on XFX so i didn't get that one.

I know this is late to add in, but my PSU has ran for about 2 years without problems so I am hoping that means there wont be problems to come haha.

Well no one said that you will have any problems, what we said is that there are much better quality PSUs in the market that you can use to power up your rig. :)

Cheers!

Im a little worried about hookups though, supposedly the 7970 needs one 6-pin and one 8-pin.

From a little research, supposedly this PSU has at least one of each but im not sure quite how to tell. Ive seen posts saying it does have an 8bit and some not saying it does (or doesnt).

Anyone happen to know?

So I tore open the case and found the other 6pin connector and a fourth 6pin connector that also had a small little 2pin connector wrapped with it, would that be the 8pin im looking for?
