7870 myst edition not working

So i recently bought a 7870 2gb myst edition powercolor video card. When i put the card in it wouldnt post. I have updated my bios to the newest setting, checked all cables and used new ones. I am at a loss right now. I really do not want to return the video card becuase it was such a good deal. I do have a alienware R3 desktop PC running on the a06 bios. Which is the newest one but still over a year and a half old. I believe this might be the problem. So if anyone has any solutions to find a way around this. That would be awesome.

You need a newer bios, one made after Oct. 2012. Had the same issue with my Asrock 890FX Deluxe5. Has something to do with the UFEI not being recognized by the main board.

Were you able to resolve this? I'm running into the same issue with mine. I'll probably be returning mine and finding a compatible card.
