Ok here the problem. I run dual OS
I have win XP Pro
and win 98 sec.

Ok I want to use 1.53 gigs of ram But I want to block 512 megs of it. so when win 98 boots up it only sees 1024 megs of ram. So I can use the ATi tv card in win 98. It dont work in win xp pro. That why I have dual OS.

I'm not sure if any program can do that, but do you really need 1.5GB of RAM?

u know win98 has a wee spot of trouble with over 512Mb right?

and i havnt heard of any way you can disable sticks of ram, short of removing them.

i also have to ask... why the heck do u need 1.5Gb of it?

hmmmm
if u say so
back before one of my sticks of 256mb died i had 512mb, and i never needed anymore, even with craploads of things open and a big game in the background.

course now that im stuck with 256 i very often hit the limit :(

Some games like descent 3 only need 40 megs Memory at that. For it runs with the video card. Games like civilization 3 is a memory Hog. I have seen useing 800megs. Less memory slower the games runs. Later the turn the slower it takes for the turn. When I frist tried the game civ 3. I only had 256 and game was very slow. 2 mins a turn. Now it like 1 min a turn.

In Windows 98 run MSCONFIG. Under the Advanced options there is a choice to limit amount of memory that Windows uses. I don't know if it works with large amounts of memory, like 1024 MB.

the games i play tend to take up a fair amount of room too.
serious sam takes up typically 90-100mb
and the baldurs gate series of RPG games are extreemly memory hungry, often occuping 100mb+
