i have a networked laserjet printer, it responds well when i ping but when i tried printing through it says offline though its switched on. if i try searching for it, it cant be found.

Do you have the drivers installed on your pc?

If it used to print and nothing else has changed on your network then it should work now. This may sound trivial but try restarting both pc and printer and giving it another go. Otherwise check printer settings to see if everything is in order.

Did you double-check to make sure the IP you are pinging is actually the printer and not something else that now has that IP? If the printer is on DHCP it could have picked up a new IP. Print out a test page from the printer, should give you the IP it has.
