How does this Turtle Beach refurb look?

Does this compare at all to the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz or what? I'm just curious, because it's a fairly big difference compared to $61 @ Newegg.

It's a refurbished Montego, an old Aureal card, probably a Vortex1, I think the Vortex II model was the Montego II. I paid $15 for my last 2 SQ2500 cards, which were VortexII. There are some problems with the VIA chipset that make Aureal cards not run well on them (similar problems with the Creative Live series). XP has built in drivers, the Win2k drivers never worked right.

These cards are top notch for sound quality but probably not worth the effort for the average user. Additionally, if it is indeed the Vortex 1, it only has one channel instead of two.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

Also, Dell's Turtle Beach cards have different BIOSes that require special drivers.

Dell's Turtle Beach cards are slightly different from the retail version, and probably not as good.
