Router issue with Windows 7

I've got a problem with using my computer with a router. It's a bit of a strange situation. I have my computer connected to the internet via a wired router. One day the internet icon in the right hand corner of the screen showed a yellow triangle with an exclamation point saying I didn't have access to the internet. The weird thing is that I was still getting a wireless signal with my laptop and the internet was working fine on it. Also, when I connect my computer directly to the cable modem it works as well.

I went and bought a new router thinking that may be the issue but I'm getting the exact same problems. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?
