So I just got this new HDTV monitor 24" and my specs are :

FX8120 processor
HD7950 3GB Gigabyte
32GB DDR3
2 TB HDD

now my question is what is the optimum resoultion I should work on ? as when i set it to 1920X1080 ( says recommended ) I get a message that im on HDMI mode @ 1080P but the display is only part of the screen so I get it back to 1680X1050 to get the whole display on the screen

now which is better ? what res I should work on

More about : resolution question

Hi,

When you use 1920 x 1080P do you get a black border around the outside of the screen? if so that can be corrected with overscan in CCC.

It might not be the issue but thought I'd post it anyway.

If you right click the desktop and choose Catalyst Control Centre > On the left hide side of CCC click on My Digital Flat Panels > Then choose Scaling Options and put the slider all the way to the right.
