Hi there

I currently use one GTX680 card and im interested in purchasing Crysis 3.
However i don't want to play it yet if i can't play it on ultra @ 1080p and always be at 60fps+
So the question is, how much of a performance benefit would i get from adding another GTX680 card?

I could mention, my job gives me discounts on computer parts so i could get a 2nd card for ~$300
It's a basic referance card, same as i use now.

while you dont get a rock solid 60 fps with a gtx680 on very high with fxaa.. what you get is on a 8350fx 4.5 1866 9 10 9 28 2t nb2400 ht 2400, zotac gtx 680 amp!, 136 power in evga precision x 4.0 (1241g7000m) using the logging feature with frame rate, (in the "welcome to the jungle" level.. its the second level...) a minimum of 40fps to 65... i would say 57fps average.
if you want rock solid 60 , use high fxaa (imo while i prefer very high, high does not look that bad when you use very high textures but it requires 2GB gpu memory for that)...

in any case go to the 3dguru . com review where they compare 22 graphics cards on crysis 3 at low, medium, high, and very high.

I have tried it with 1,2 and 3 GTX 680s. I could never get 4 to work for some reason.

I found that adding more cards only makes a noticable difference for Crysis 3 if you play on multiple screens. You didn't mention how many you use but for a single display setup, you probably won't improve your playing experience enough to warrent a second card.

I played on 3 screens and the extra horse power allows it to remain smooth on ultra. I never saw average frame rates getting much past 55fps - 60 fps even with 3 GTX 680s on an I7 3930K, 40GB ram and an SSD.

To be honest, you probably don't need more than 1 GTX 680 for any current game but, if you're like me, you have already made up your mind to buy it anyway and want a little reassurance.

If you want it, get it. At the price you mentioned, you will have no problem selling it on Ebay if you don't get the performance gains you hope for. They sell like hot cakes at anything less than $400. I sold 2 last week with 24hours and I'm about to put another two on and expect the same. Go on! live a little!

I get 45 to 50fps with v-sync off on a single 670 so i am assuming the 680 would do a bit better
