Sapphire HD 7770 - can this run 3 monitors?

Can this Sapphire card run 3 monitors? (not eyefinity)

I know it's not enough for gaming on 3 monitors and it's not for gaming either.

It has 3 output pots.
-DVI
-HDMI
-DisplayPort

I am concerned because I read somewhere that HDMI and DVI share the same channel so they can't be used together.

Please share your expertise.

  1. With three monitors you don't want to use the HDMI port and you want to get a DVI cable with two ends so that you can connect two of the monitors with the DVI port and the third with the display port.

You need to get one of these adapters to connect 3 monitors.

yes it can do three. That's only true on cards with.2 DVI and one HDMI. One DVI shares with the HDMI port then. However you must use an active display port to DVI adapter(costs about $25), or have a display port monitor.

I would recommend a sapphire flex card which can run 3 DVI monitors out of the box.

Um... That card only has one DVI. The HDMI and DVI are independent and you would HAVE to use HDMI to run three monitors. You can't hook two independent monitors to one DVI port. Doesn't work that way
