Laptop overheating

Hello,
i've a laptop acer aspire 5742g , my laptop is over heating after installing latest nvdia graphics driver 314.07 ,which i updated after get notification , before this my laptop was working good . now i cant even play good games like assassins creed 3 , after couple of minutes it goes shut down suddenly . please help me

My laptop config-
i5-480m cpu
nvdia gt-540m
4gb ram

Try to reinstall the drivers with a clean installation. When you install the drivers, do the custom installation and check the "Clean installation" box. Hope it helps.
