Hello guys, I have a very ugly problem here. Can anyone help? (if this is in the wrong section, please redirect me)
I'll be providing as much info as I can remember just in case it helps. My operating system is Windows 7 and I have a GeForce 310m card.
I was playing Portal 2 earlier today and realized Razor Game Booster wasn't launching. I opened it up but it caused stuttering and sound lag in the game. It also caused a steam.exe issue but that's probably irrelevant. I closed both of them, restarted and it worked fine, but every once in a while Portal 2 would close, the screen would freeze temporarily and turn black, then it'd light back up to my desktop screen. Windows notified "“Display driver stopped responding and has recovered”.
This happened before and I remember fixing it by installing new drivers. My current drivers were 310.9, and I downloaded and installed 314.07.
After the installation my computer temporarily froze then the screen went black. I waited for a while before turning off the computer and booting up again. After hearing the Windows start-up confirmation sound, the screen was still black. I rebooted in safe mode and then the computer crashed. Restarted again and Windows asked to check for the disk for any errors. Rebooted normally, still a black screen.
I deleted the 314.07 folder and rebooted but the issue persists. That's all I've done for now. Please help me alleviate this issue. I'd greatly appreciate it.
