Hello everyone, I am wondering what would be the best CPU for gaming, video and photo editing.
The i5 2500k, or a fx-6300.
Its about the price to, the fx-6300 is €120, and the 2500k is ~€200.
Will there be a major difference in gaming? (10 fps)
I will play at 1680 x 1050, and will be playing Battlefield 3, LoL, Runescape and Black Ops 2.
And will the 6 cores be a good thing, when I'm video editing or photoshopping?
Thanks,

I'm not entirely sure why you posted in the graphics card forum.. but I did a quick search just to let you know a little more about your question.

While it's not the best out there, it does give you some useful information.

However, may I suggest a 3570k for a similar price, the Ivy Bridge processor is a bit faster than the Sandy Bridge counterpart and matched with a z77 board you have full PCI Express 3.0 for future ugrades to the GPU department.

As for video editing, I do a bit of it and the difference on a 2600k with the hyperthreading enabled and disabled really isn't that great. So the 2500k would be great.

The FX-6300 will get the job done, but I'd lean more towards the intel chip. As for your games, the biggest factor is going to be the GPU. Running at that resolution I'd suggest at least an AMD 7850 or nVidia 660 GPU for best experience. But more power never hurts.

I hope this helps you out. :)
